Behind the works

My work embodies everyday encounters and objects through representational painting and ceramic sculpture. I make connections between personal experiences and mundane events. Simple subject matter, specific locations, and human-made elements populate my compositions and describe my perspective on living in 21st-century Los Angeles. I use realistic color, exaggerated scale, and varied perspectives in two and three dimensions to portray sights in unexpected ways. My work functions as an appreciation of and renewed outlooks on the surroundings that constitute my reality.
